Bio
Kendra Barnowski creates primarily with fibers and found objects. Originally from Royal Oak, MI, she earned her BFA from Detroit’s College for Creative Studies and continues to embrace the Midwest, currently active throughout lower Michigan and northern Ohio. Her work explores themes of vulnerability, nostalgia, and new life.

Kendra considers herself first a maker, then a storyteller. In her practice, the process is as significant as the end goal. She loves investigating new approaches supported by centuries of beautiful craftsmanship traditions. She can usually be found weaving up a textile storm at her go-to living history museum, teaching a sewing workshop, or sipping a cozy cup of Irish tea.
